Springer is batting .452 with six home runs and 13 RBIs in 11 games this month for a team that has 28 homers over its last 10 contests. The Tigers are at the other end of the spectrum when it comes to power with an American League-low 32 homers, but they got two of them in Sunday’s 5-3 win at Minnesota to gain a split of a four-game set. Nicholas Castellanos had one of the long balls in a 3-for-4 effort for Detroit while Miguel Cabrera, who is batting .379 at home, added an RBI single.
