Frequently asked questions

Why are French odds lower?

French law caps the payout to players at 85% of stakes over a year. The ANJ fined eight sportsbooks in 2024 for exceeding the cap during the 2022 World Cup.

What is a typical French welcome offer?

Most leading French books refund your first bet if it loses, up to a cap such as €100. Some, including Winamax and Betclic, pay the refund as withdrawable cash rather than as a free bet.
