$110,000: Combined fines, three operators. New Jersey fines BetMGM, bet365 and FanDuel

New Jersey’s Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) has fined three of the state’s largest online sportsbooks, according to orders reported on 6 October 2026.

BetMGM received the largest penalty: $72,000, plus disgorgement of $8,204.49, for accepting bets on prohibited or unapproved events, including New Jersey college teams or events held in the state. New Jersey does not allow wagers on its own college teams.

bet365 was fined $33,000 for violating the state’s self-exclusion regulations; the order did not detail the violations. It is bet365’s second $33,000 fine in New Jersey, after a 2024 penalty for taking bets on events whose results were already known.

FanDuel was fined $5,000 for failing to comply with a DGE directive during an investigation into suspicious betting. FanDuel said the fine related to returning funds to a customer before the investigation was complete.

All three penalties are counted in the regulatory-record part of our US scores.
