Sky Bet overview

Sky Bet launched in 2002 as the betting arm of Sky and is now run by SBG Sports Limited, part of Flutter Entertainment, which took it over through its merger with The Stars Group in May 2020. The Sky name is used under license.

The product is built around UK football: Build A Bet, Request A Bet, Acca Freeze, Super Sub on Premier League, Champions League and World Cup player markets, weekly Soccer Saturday and Super Sunday boosts, and free-to-play games such as Prize Drop and ITV7.

Sky Bet scores 8.4 in the UK, second in our table. No regulatory action has been taken against the sportsbook licensee since 2023. It loses points for the narrowest choice of payment methods we have seen (no e-wallets at all) and for streaming that is mostly racing.

How the score is built

Each score is a weighted average of five criteria, each out of 10. Two are calculated from public data (regulatory record and App Store rating); three are editorial judgments based on documented features, payment terms and offer terms. Full method.
