Betfair overview
Betfair launched in 2000 and built the best-known betting exchange in the world, where customers back and lay outcomes against each other at prices set by the market rather than by a bookmaker. It merged with Paddy Power in February 2016; the group was renamed Flutter Entertainment in 2019 and now also owns Sky Bet and FanDuel.
One Betfair account opens both the exchange and a conventional fixed-odds sportsbook. The sportsbook covers more than 30 sports with Bet Builder, full and partial cash out, Acca Edge (a cash refund when one leg of a treble or bigger lets you down) and free streaming for funded accounts.
